This housework Lauri Ylönen hates!

Lauri @ EMMA Gaala 2011

Thanks to The Rasmus Germany, here is a small interview/article with Lauri from Metrolive talking about his life, what he hates doing around the house and why he hates going out on a Friday evening. Translation can be found below.

The Rasmus’ solist Lauri Ylönen have been half of his life a celebrity. Nevertheless he doesn’t find his celebrity being distressing.
-My life is quite unusual in many ways, but it became normal to me. I built a clear path, on which I can drive without muzzle. I don’t really want to go out on a Friday evening to the cinema. Cider drinker teens’ finger-pointing applause can become quite disturbing.
Ylönen and his fiancé PMMP’s Paula Vesala live in two houses: in a modest wooden house in Helsinki’s Vallila and in a three-floor 150 sqm house in Helsinki’s Jollas. The couple has a son, Julius, who has been born in 2008. During the break from the gigs Ylönen mainly focused on his family.
-I enjoy housework, except for dishwashing. Our dishwasher just broke down, Lauri Ylönen told.

Here there is a 3-minute audio interview from NRJ Radio Finland in which Lauri speaks about his well being and of quitting drinking because it was best for him. He also told that he tried quitting already once about 3 years ago but then Aki came like ‘Let’s go to the bar!’ and he started drinking again. Thanks for the sharing to Oana/PMMP&TheRasmus Forum.

Interview with Lauri made by the-rasmus.ru

the-rasmus.ru Fan Site posted an interview with Lauri that they have made recently. Unfortunately the whole interview is in Russian, but Google Translate makes a pretty good English translation and you can check out what he said using it.

Thanks for the-rasmus.ru for posting and and Oana/PMMP&TheRasmus Forum for the notification.

Lauri: “I quit drinking because of my son!”

Thanks to Oana, here are two articles about Lauri from Iltalehti and Iltasanomat where Lauri talks shortly of why he quit drinking alcohol. A whole article/interview with him can be found in the new number of MeNaiset (7/2011). A translation of the Iltalehti article can be found below (Iltasanomat says the same).

Lauri Ylönen, 31, says that becoming father finally ended his long adolescence. His ‘adolescence’ goes on with the band’s life and when touring with The Rasmus.
-Before I was up until seven in the morning, but now I wake up at that time to play with my kid. I also ended use of alcohol. I realized that it is my responsibility to take care of my son and give him a wonderful childhood just like mine was, the man told to MeNaiset in the interview.
Lauri and his fiancé, PMMP’s Paula Vesala’s first born son is 3 years old this April. Paula told publicly that a second child would be welcomed.

Lauri also will be guest at Summeri on 10th April from 10.30 AM Finnish Time, where they will make puppets as well. Here is a short promo video made with him.

Lauri composing music for Finnish Artist

Johanna Kurkela

Despite the silence around The Rasmus, Lauri is working for other Finnish artists too. He have recently composed music for the Finnish singer called Johanna Kurkela for her new album, that will be released in April. The first single of the album is called “Rakkauslaulu”, lyrics written by Paula Vesala (PMMP), music composed by Lauri Ylönen (The Rasmus) and cellos are played by Eicca Toppinen (Apocalyptica). You can listen to one minute of the song on the MySpace site of Johanna Kurkela (linked below). Also other songs from the album are composed by Paula and Lauri.

Lauri playing Pikkuveli for PMMP and short summary of the Radio Helsinki Interview

Asenne Esiin!

Lauri have played yesterday for PMMP their song called Pikkuveli and also followed on acustic guitar one of the heavier songs called Mummola. Thanks to Oana, here you can see the video of Lauri performing Pikkuveli :) .

As promised (sorry a little later) here it is about what Lauri have been talking about in the Radio Helsinki Interview on 31.01.
-He have been on a holiday with his family in Thailand.
-They are now working on their new album on their own, without producers and yet without record label (as their contract with Playground Music Scandinavia expired), and they are testing their skills.
-He was asked if the new material will bring any new stuff to the fans. He said that he have been recently listening to a lot of electro music, and that those might have some effect on the stuff they will do, but it will still sound like Rasmus.
-They will be making now their album, and do some festivals as well. They hope they can release the album by autumn, but nothing is sure yet.
-They have started studio work starting with 1st February and they hope they can come up with some surprises soon.
-He have been also talking about Dynasty, that it is not the easiest thing ever to manage a record company but they are doing it fine, and it’s always good to see new artists coming up in the spotlight.
