Many have been worried about why Lauri have lost so much weight recently, MTV3 asked Lauri about it, and he told he has been having flu for 5 weeks. Article can be found here, and a translation below.

The Rasmus – singer Lauri Ylönen had to survive the album promotion in a very long flu’s company.

On the face of The Rasmus’ Lauri the childish curves have disappeared because of the age, but lately the fans have been worried about Lauri losing even more weight. The explanation is found in a tormenting flu.

- I was having a flu for 5 weeks. It can be an explanation, since I could not eat too much, Lauri tells in the MTV3.fi News interview.

The singer however have not been worried about the situation, but rather joked about it with the drummer, Aki Hakala.

- Can I get any smaller than this? It starts to get a bit dangerous, if I won’t find even myself when searching, Lauri laughs.

- For next nutritionists will call you, Aki teases his bandmate.

Lauri admits that the flu have also made harder the already busy new album promotion.

- Yes, it was quite hard to make everything with a 40C fever just right then when the new album was about to come out. But it did not help anyways. I haven’t really got to rest, so that made it a bit longer.

Now the flu has been gone away, and Lauri seemed to be in full power at the Tuesday-evening album release gig. The Rasmus’ new album, The Rasmus have been released on Wednesday.

Lauri & Aki @ Huomenta Suomi

Yesterday morning Aki and Lauri have been guests at Huomenta Suomi on MTV3 and talked about the new album and other things too. You can find the video at the end of the post and a summary of the interview below:

- during their work in the summer they made about 30 songs out of which they selected the 10 that are now on the album; Lauri thinks that his solo stuff gave a better way to the new The Rasmus album, because it gave him a lot of new ideas; Aki tells about them having a very active street team that work together with the labels and make them promotion too; work with Desmond was great but Lauri tells it felt like the making of Black Roses was kind of out of their own hands; when asked where they see themselves in 10 years Lauri tells that hopefully things will go on like this and they will still be doing music; sharing of the work is like Eero making video stuff [he has also made a movie in India that will probably come out in autumn], Aki is like the modern guy going with the Facebook and such, being a director of the band; Lauri remembers that earlier he could go anywhere without being recognized, but recently even in Thailand there are people coming and shouting ‘The Rasmus’ on the street.

The Rasmus @ Korkojen Kera

I'm a Mess cover

The Rasmus have been at Korkojen Kera on the 06.04, where we have also been there. The interview and the performance of I’m a Mess Acoustic can be found here, on the video archive of MTV3. Summary of the interview can be found below:

- when asked what does come to their mind about Playboys, Lauri tells that his dad gave him as present a Playboys magazine in which was Pamela Anderson; Jenni tells that Lauri told in Jyrki show that he will end the rock career when he is 27/29 at which Lauri doesn’t want to hear how much he will be in a few weeks, but doesn’t deny he said something like this back in time; when asked why they stay in Finland still when Pauli and Eero are in Singapore/Italy Aki tells that he has been asking the same when on that morning he was setting up a tramboline on the yard and it was snowing;

Lauri in Idols today!

Lauri in Idols

Thanks to our Barbi for sharing the link with the interview made just half an hour before the start of the first Idol final in which Lauri will be a guest judge. In the article Lauri tells that he would expect the singers would give in everything without fear and show themselves; that when it comes to stadion rock then you need for a proper show-mood; he’s is sure that during the show there will be many famous songs; Lauri does not know any of the finalists because he hasn’t been watching previously the show and he thinks it’s only fair because he can now judge with ‘clean tables’ without prejudices; he will not be pessimistic, will keep his eyes and ears open and ready to give advices to the performance how can they then improve themselves.

Idols starts today at 19.30 Finnish Time on MTV3.

Lauri @ Radio Nova and MTV3-Huomenta Suomi!

Lauri @ Radio Nova - Aamun Radio

Lauri has been today guest at Radio Nova’s morning show, Aamun Radio from 8.40 AM. You can find the interview here and below a short summary of what he has been talking about.
-he thought to release music more often via his solo career; with The Rasmus making music is going a little slower because they also mess around together, and he thinks it sounds a little weird that he is a musician but he manages to get only 10 songs in 3 years by releasing stuff only with TR; he tells that the rest of the guys took the news of him going also solo pretty good and they have been asking him when he is doing gigs, he said he’ll make some festivals and also organize meet&greets to them; he thinks that because of his change of views also comes more in the ‘pictures’/style of The Rasmus; he was trying to differenciate musically and visually his solo stuff from TR because they do not fit together at all; he recently been listening to a lot of Daft Punk, Björk and Prodigy; when asked about his incomes he said that he got a new car and since bought a new house it’s only fair, but when it comes to one earning more them it has to work hell of a lot and he can not just make as much work as before and all the time.

He has also been from 9.15AM at MTV3′s Huomenta Suomi. You can find the video (don’t know how long available) here or here for YouTube, and select on the left side The Rasmuksen Lauri Ylönen soolouralle (28.03). Here he has been talking about the story how Heavy was born (that we already know), that he’s not much into politics although he has a great friend who is politician Pekka Haavisto, he also told that in July the rest of the TR guys (Eero and Pauli) are coming to Finland and they will start work on the new album although they have no idea yet for when we can expect a release of it, he will have some summer festivals and a short tour in autumn of his solo career.
