-during the pause Aki says he was home with his son, taking a break, relaxing. Aki thinks this break made good for their own private lives.

-Lauri tells that previously they woke up in the studio, now the kids are waking them up shouting, makes some difference, but it feels good.

-they are excited bout people hearing their new music

-in a few weeks they will leave to Tokio to make a new video.

YleX informed in october, that The Rasmus are in studio recording their new album. The album is now mixed and it will be released in spring.

A teaser of now the album will sound we will hear at the final of UMK, when The Rasmus’ long waited I’m a mess new single will have its worldwide premier.

-          We have a realy good song. I just told that it sound like an Eurovision song, putting the guitars on for sing. It will be a great evening, great atmosphere, Lauri smiles.

UMK Final will be streamed, so that all over the world will be possible to follow the premier of the song of The Rasmus on the Internet.

-          It is great  that it will be streamed. We anyways have a lot of fans, that are waiting for the new album and song, all over the world. It’s exciting, cause we will surely get a lot of feedback on it, Aki tells.

-          But as Lauri said, this our song sounds probably more like Eurovision than many others in the contest. I listened to all of the participants and there were all kind from schlager to rock, and our poprock fits in just perfect, Aki continues.

The Rasmus, however, have not yet planned on participating in the contest.

-          Maybe we participate sometimes later, Lauri commented.

The Rasmus will leave for a tour to promote the new album, but the plans are still very open.

-          We will do a release gig in Finland, and Finland-tour will surely be only in the autumn, it would also be great to play at some festivals during the summer, Aki tells.

The Rasmus makes a comeback!

The Rasmus will perform at Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu at the end of February. The band makes a come back after a long pause. Their latest release was Best of 2001 – 2009 release in November 2009, and Black Roses in September 2008.

The band will play at the Helsinki Ice Hall for the first time their new single I’m a mess. According to Lauri Ylönen the song brings on the feeling from tne previous Into -album. The new album of The Rasmus will be released later this later.

The Rasmus is one of the most successfull Finnish bands and they sold over 3,5 million albums.

At the sixth UMK- final, additionally to The Rasmus will also perform aradise Oskar & Felix Zenger, Minna Tervamäki, Eun-Ji Ha ja Linda Haakana.

Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu is in Helsinki Icehall on 25.02. Tickets 35-40 euro

Lauri in Poland

According to a note posted by Rock Cafe on Facebook, both gigs of Lauri, in Tallin and Riga have been canceled. The reason is that he has work to do urgently on the new The Rasmus album.

Bass player of The Rasmus, Eero Heinonen is preparing a big surprise, he is trying himself in a new fiels.

-Eero (Heinonen) has started to direct a movie. He is now in India 3 months to shoot for his first directed movie. He left there immediately when we recorded his part for our album, The Rasmus basis’s band mate Lauri Ylönen reveals.

The Rasmus’ new album is close to be completed.

-When I go home from this Haavisto Live concert, for me are waiting the first mixes of the songs, Lauri advertised before performing at the support concert.

-We aim for the album to be released during spring. It’s useless to wait for anything, the musician says.
